Peer Parent Mentor Program
Our Peer Parent Mentor Program puts trained and experienced parents in contact with other parents who are experiencing a similar journey. The Parent Mentors have been on the journey of hearing loss with their own child/children and are available to support other parents of Deaf and hard of hearing infants and children.
The Parent Mentors have:
- Diverse experience, service experiences and language backgrounds
- Different language and communication modalities
- Different cultural backgrounds or are D/HH adults with lived experience
The Parent Mentors:
- Can provide unbiased information and support to your family to inform your decision making
- Will respect your choices in decision making for families including language, technology, communication modality, or education setting
- Can share their knowledge of local and regional resources
- Can share their knowledge on how your family can navigate the system
