The WA Foundation for Deaf Children (WAFDC) and the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) through the Renwick Centre have developed a new partnership that now offers a “coursework higher degree program” for teachers in Western Australia.
Expressions of Interest are invited for the Master of Disability Studies (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) that is now offered to teachers in Western Australia on a part-time or full-time basis. This course will be suitable for teachers wishing to gain qualifications to teach children who are deaf or hard of hearing and for already qualified teachers of the deaf seeking to upgrade their current qualifications. This course is now available entirely online. All degrees offered by RIDBC Renwick Centre are awards of Macquarie University.
- Bachelor Honours degree in education, psychology, speech and hearing, special education, disability studies, health sciences, allied health or a related discipline
- OR Bachelor degree in education, psychology, speech and hearing, special education, disability studies, health sciences, allied health or a related discipline AND a minimum of 2 year’s full-time work experience relevant to the chosen specialisation
- OR Bachelor degree and a Graduate Certificate in education, psychology, speech and hearing, special education, disability studies health sciences, allied health or a related discipline
