“D.E.A.F Express is an event that aims to bring awareness to issues surrounding the deaf and hard of hearing community, allowing the community to come together and express their challenges, progress and services. The 7-minute ted talk style speeches spoken by children, parents and professionals in the community should deliver a topic that is Encouraging, Assisting and Factual. This year’s goal is to gather parents, children, youth and professionals to discuss leadership and advocacy in the deaf and hard of hearing community. Tickets available through http://www.trybooking.com/BCKNN

Leadership and advocacy in the deaf and hard of hearing community can be expressed in many different ways, from leading a team as someone who is deaf or hard of hearing to pushing for better services for your child as a parent.
D.E.A.F Express is a safe and non-judgemental platform in which the community can engage with each other through encouraging stories, assist each other with challenges and provide facts about services. The event allows professionals, deaf children/teenagers and parents of deaf and hard of hearing children to be in the same place fulfilling a gap in the pathway of information.”
